Dr Brya Matthews - POC Member
Brya is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology at the University of Auckland. She completed her PhD in 2009 studying the pathogenesis of Paget’s disease, followed by some years as a postdoctoral fellow and Assistant Professor at UConn Health in the USA. She is now part of the Bone and Joint Group at the University of Auckland, supported by a Sir Charles Hercus Fellowship from the Health Research Council of New Zealand. Her research interests encompass mesenchymal stem/prpgenitor cell identification and biology, particularly associated with adult bone turnover and fracture healing. She is also interested in neuronal and hormonal regulation of bone turnover and bone healing.
